Hockey · Goalkeeper
CURVA Coach understands exactly what Goalkeeper demands physically. Your programme is built around those demands — not a generic template.
Get my CoachThe four physical qualities that define performance at this position — and why they matter.
Saving shots in hockey requires explosive lateral and vertical movement from a low set position in fractions of a second. The programme develops lower body power through plyometrics and reactive training specifically designed around the demands of the position.
Goalkeepers operate in a wide stance and need exceptional hip flexibility and lateral agility to cover the full width of the goal. Specific mobility work and lateral movement training are built into the programme to develop this range of movement.
Goalkeeper actions — saves, clearances, position resets — are all short explosive efforts with recovery time between them. The programme develops this specific power quality without sacrificing the aerobic base needed to maintain sharpness across a full game.
Clearing the ball, distributing under pressure and making strong saves with the stick all require significant upper body strength. Pressing, grip strength and shoulder stability work are built into the programme to support consistent stick work.
A Goalkeeper doesn't need the same programme as a Midfielder. CURVA Coach builds around the specific demands of your position — then layers in your schedule, your body and any niggles you're carrying.
Every two weeks, your coach reviews your progress and updates your programme. It adapts across pre-season, in-season and recovery so you're always doing the right work at the right time.
And if you have questions — about movement, nutrition, an injury niggle — your coach is available 24/7 in the app.
